Day 1

We leave Mérida in the morning driving up through ç
El Valle to La Culata, the departure point of our hike which lies at 2950 m. We will hike for about 3-4 hours to reach our first campsite at the foot of a waterfall amidst a mystic Speletia flowers valley located at 3600 meters above the sea level. Overnight in tents

Day 2

Our day starts with a steep ascent for a couple of hours to Pan de Azucar peak at 4600 meters height. Weather permitting we will observe Pico Bolivar (the highest of Venezuela at 5007 meters) and Pico Humboldt. We will trek through a Andean dry desert landscape to reach our second campsite at the edge of 3 mountain lakes. (6-8 hours walking). Overnight in tents.

Day 3

Today we descend 3-4 hours on small mountain trails where the gem of Sierra La Culata National Park awaits us. The natural hot springs lie at 3200 meters and are a perfect place to relax after a couple of icy nights in the mountains. The water temperature goes from 32 – 38 celsius degrees; After a picnic we will walk down to meet our transportation to Mérida city.
